WINTER SOLSTICE

Winter Solstice is on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

Winter Solstice is when the axis of the Earth pauses, shifts and moves in the opposite direction.  For 3 days around the solstice points we may physically, mentally and spiritually experience this stand still and shift of direction.  This is the shortest day of the year and the longest night.

Fall Equinox is on Friday, September 23, 2023. Fresno, CA

Fall Equinox marks the end of Summer.  The Sun is exactly above the equator and crosses

SUMMER SOLSTICE

This event is on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Fresno, CA

Summer Solstice is the moment the Earth’s tilt toward the Sun is at a maximum.  The Sun appears at the highest elevation with a noontime position that changes very little for several days before and after the Summer Solstice.

The members of the Maize Native Collective have chosen the Corn Mother as a representation of our Tribe. Members will BLESS and AWAKEN the Corn Mother.

SPRING EQUINOX

This event is scheduled for Sunday, March 26, 2023. Fresno, CA

This is the day the Sun crosses the plane of the equator towards the relevant hemisphere, making day and night of equal length.  This marks the end of Winter and the beginning of warmer days ahead; a time for planting and sowing.
